Creative Festivals at the Parish Life Conference

The Youth of St Philip's are invited to submit entries into the Creative Arts Festival competition each year at the Parish Life Conference.  Each Conference conforms to a theme, which forms the basis for the creative entries.

The theme for 2014 is Love the Lord – Love Your Neighbor 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.'  Luke10:27

Entries are solicited for Art, Writing, Poetry, Photography, and a new category, Media. This new category encompasses audio, video, games, or other forms of electronic media.

Here’s a video game created to be an example of what can be done for the new Media category.  (To play the game, download to your computer, double-click to open the folder, and double-click the file.)  We all have our strengths – where does your talent lie?

More information about the categories, eligibility, and submission requirements can be found at http://www.antiochian.org/festivals/cf.

At St Philip's, a Creative Arts Workshop will be held on February 8, 2014, for our youth to work on projects to be submitted to the Festival.  More information is available from Linda Henry, or download the registration form.

And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Children's Homilies

Let the Children Come Unto Me
Let the Children Come Unto Me
Children’s Homilies on the Icons of St. Philip’s - Our holy icons can become mere old-fashioned decorations to our children unless the stories of the Bible, Church history, and the Saints become our family stories. Only then can children grow deeper in their love of God and more mature in their lives in the Church. Fr. Noah Bushelli attempts to do just this in these live recordings of homilies to children of his parish about cooperating with God's love in the company of His saints.

Searchable Scripture
